(Resolved, 7.3.2010) Hardware problem on th SFS filesystem.
We are experiencing a hardware problem on the SFS filesystem. Access to the /db /home/vital-it and /scratch/frt filesystem is extremely slow.
The situation will be solved tomorrw when the spare part will arrive onsite.
Thank you for your understanding.

(Open, 19.01.2010) Itanium retirement - Itanium queue "long" closed.
Update 15.02.2010:
- The new machines are physically installed and are currently in testing phase.
Update 25.01.2010:
- The Itanium nodes cpt005-cpt036 are deactivated.
After 6 years of service we will retire the compute nodes cpt005-cpt036 to replace them
with 64 Xeon systems equipped each with two 4 core processors and 16 GB of RAM.
This will add 512 cores to our infrastructure and will double our present computing power.
This operation will not require any unavailability of services but until the new servers are
fully tested the resources available will be limited.
As of today we will close the long queue on these compute nodes.
Thank you for your understanding.
